Base Color Generator

Role Colors

Base Color generates this plan from the selected color group. Custom Plan uses these role colors directly.

Font Source

Standard fonts are simple and reliable, but they disable custom, local, and auto font controls.

Font Embedding

Custom and local fonts are always embedded, so the PDF looks the same on every reader. Subsetting embeds only the characters this document uses, which keeps the file much smaller.

Local Fonts

Local font discovery depends on browser support and permission. Choosing a specific font here turns Auto Font off.

Body Text

Font size uses points. Line height is a multiplier of the font size. Hyphenation uses the dictionary patterns for the article's language, and keeps word spacing even; without it long words leave visible gaps.

Spacing

Spacing values are relative multipliers, not points.

Headings

Heading spacing controls the white space before and after section titles.

Image Quality

Quality controls compression and embedded image size. DPI only affects images set to Original Size.

Image Size

Max Width is used when image sizing is limited to a percentage of the text column. Max Height limits figures relative to available page height.

Placement

Image alignment affects normal block images. Figure placement controls whether figures stay in the text flow or float left/right.

Start headings beside trailing figures lets a section title begin in the empty column next to a floated figure that extends below the previous section's text, instead of dropping below it.

Table Styling

Styled colors apply mainly to recognized data tables. Some complex tables may be rendered as images or placeholders.

When a color plan is active, table header, stripe, and rule colors can come from the selected palette or custom role colors.
